The Marker

Every year, tens of thousands of female cattle are transported from Austria to countries such as Algeria.

These animals are carrying an unborn calf and are supposedly used to build up a cattle population.

But what really happens to them on site remains a mystery.

The Marker follows the trail of the missing cows and their calves and tells their stories on an interactive map.
