Freethebees

Goals of ‘Freethebees’:

• Protection, promotion and distribution of independent, western honey bee colonies (Apis mellifera) in Switzerland
• Improve the environmental conditions for independent honey bees
• Preserve and promote biodiversity and genetic diversity through locally adapted honey bee breeds that are subject to natural selection
• Promoting species-appropriate, sustainable and modern beekeeping that fulfils both ecological and economic needs for humans and nature
